To London, Darker Days, HollowAdded to the Gillwire PlaylistGood vibes for those who subscribe on YouTube A really nice writeup of the album here: "Gillwire is Arizonan J.G. Thwaits, and he's crafted an impressive debut album that mixes power pop, classic rock and indie pop with the common thread being his sense of melody (He calls it "retro-alternative pop", which is a good a description as any). The title track (and opener) is a clever tune that's equal parts Beck, Cake and Dean Friedman, the gentle, lilting "Find Me a Movie" finds itself in McCartney/Neil Finn territory, "Big Win" boasts a beats-based melody, and "Sand in My Pockets" is the most power-popping track of the lot. While this is a debut album, Thwaits sounds as though he's been around the melodic block a few times before." Gillwire will be performing October 21st at the Chandler Artwalk. Free outdoor event at AJ Chandler Park 6:30 - 9:30pm Come to hear the music, see the art, take in the downtown culture and oh yeah.... there will be zombies!

A taste of what's to come on the album Silver Streak to be released July 8th "Combining Ben Folds-esque vocal stylings with an airy alt-pop. Don’t let the name of the track fool you, “Tragedy Sells” is an upbeat number with a bit of lyrical bite." - Carly Schorman

"To create and distribute musical content meeting a high standard of quality and serving the purposes of 1. satisfying the desire for personal artistic expression and 2. providing opportunity for the shared enjoyment of such content." Musical content includes: compositions, sound and video recordings, live performances, and related media such as written works, commentary, and visual arts. The high standard of quality to which the content is expected to achieve is a subjective measure but requires that the work in question must have merit in at least one of the following three categories: message, feel, execution. Artistic expression and audience reception of musical content may occur independently but one should not be pursued to the detriment of the other;
meaning that both engaging in an act of expression that causes harm, and compromising the integrity of the work in effort to improve audience reception should be avoided. The grand objective is best met when these dual purposes coincide and the artist and audience both have a positive experience participating in the presentation of the work. - as drafted on 19 Sept 2015Click on items in red for more information I would like to wish you all a happy return to SunBird; you were all missed.
