The Shaunnessy and new second provincial location in Abbotsford care for over 560 kids with life-threatening illnesses and the families who love them. Newly-minted Board Chair John Nicola of Nicola Wealth Management paid tribute to departing chair John Rose of NuHeat. Simon Cooksley Design inspired room had red Murano glass chandeliers hanging from the ceilings and all white lounges serving Moet while the guests danced until 1:00 am with Dr. Strangelove. The event featured a story from parents Michael Treschow (Board of Governor UBC and Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan) and his wife Jill Treschow about their son Sam, who had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and received respite, pain and symptom management, counselling and end-of-life care from the clinical team at Canuck Place.
