This old wrinkled lady has a name : Les Cigognes ("The Storks"). Behind the name, a 200 year-old love story : A countryman has the farm build for his lover. When she leaves him and disappears, he scours the whole region and places a nest and two storks on the chimney-pot as it is believed that "The storks always fly back to their nest". The tale does not say if his lover ever came back. For Tullia and Renato Mangili, it's love at first sight. They buy the farmhouse, several years pass, they then decide to refurbish the entire domain without really knowing how far this will lead them. The restoration is of a comprehensive kind, the whole site made accessible by the approach roads, but the Domain's authenticity and original character are preserved: the storks from the roof are restored, the old wells are functional again, the bread oven is consolidated, the parquets are refinished, so are the beams and roof.

A thorough search is conducted to find the same shape and size-titles as the original ones. After years of gratifying hard work, the owners are satisfied with their accomplishment but feel the need to share the beauty of their dwelling. They decide to turn the farmhouse into a refined domain for high standard receptions. To perfect their master-piece, they call on the know-how of artists and talented craftsmen. For two long weeks, these artists get inspired by the local atmosphere, the history of the domain, the regional culture and customs, and translate them into their work.

Muses pays tribute to the Woman, a major source of inspiration of Lalique since its origins. An ode to feminine beauty, Lalique's craftsmanship plays with satin-finished crystal to evoke the velvety texture of skin. Crystal Architecture by Zaha Hadid The Crystal Architecture by Zaha Hadid collection was born of a passion for beauty, a quest for excellence, and the will to combine the expertise of our master-glassmakers with the creativity and rare talent of an architect and designer of world renown. Founded over a century ago, in 1888, Lalique has endured as the ultimate symbol of French luxury.Lalique has five main categories: decorative items, interior design, jewellery, perfumes, and art.

Discover the world of Lalique ‘In 1985, dream became a reality, with the acquisition of Château des Castaignes in Montmort, built on the site known as La Demoiselle. The idea arose to create a new cuvée for Vranken champagne called La Demoiselle de Champagne. Demoiselle was a common name for the dragonfly, which was an emblem for the art nouveau genius Lalique, so everything came together to make this first brut champagne, whose special bottle was a moving tribute to art nouveau. In 2005, Demoiselle celebrated its 20th anniversary. At the foot of Domaine Pommery, the abandoned villa was waiting for someone to restore it to its former glory and splendour. As soon as we met, it was love at first sight. For nearly five years, we sent the best craftsmen, plumbers, roofers, painters, decorators, carpenters, and glass workers there… It was a very long process. THE SPLENDOUR OF ART NOUVEAU AND ART DECO A gem of early 20th-century architecture, Villa Demoiselle has been reborn thanks to the passion of its owners, Paul-François and Nathalie Vranken.

This mansion, formerly known as Villa Cochet, is the unique result of work shared by architects, cabinet makers, and decorators united by the same inspiration, somewhere between art nouveau and art deco. This restoration of this exceptional Villa, which survived repeated threats of destruction and was then virtually abandoned, gave it back its spirit of technical daring and stylistic innovation. Enhanced by a team of renowned craftsmen, the building has retained the splendour of its golden age. It is once again a house alive with the winds of freedom and creation. THE IRIS, A MAJESTIC EMBLEM The iris has a long, rich, glorious history. In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods. When she came down from the sky to deliver a message, she left behind a rainbow. Legend has it that Clovis, King of the Franks, was able to flee the Visigoths when he saw marsh irises growing in a stream bed, so he knew that he could cross the water. He made the flower a royal emblem.

From the Temple of Amun in Upper Egypt to King Minos’ frescoes in Crete, to precious Japanese prints, many artists throughout the ages have depicted the iris. Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, René Lalique, Alfons Mucha, and Ernest Blérot… painters, architects, sculptors, and jewellers… so many artists have been inspired by the beautiful Iris. It is a symbol of femininity and elegance, so it was quite natural that the Iris would become the emblem of Demoiselle champagne. INTERVIEW WITH NATHALIE AND PAUL-FRANÇOIS VRANKEN, BY CAROLINE ETTER On Vranken-Pommery’s champagne estate, there sits an imposing villa built in the early 20th century by members of the art nouveau movement. It is called Villa Demoiselle, and it was entirely renovated by Paul-François and Nathalie Vranken. Here is the story of their labour of love. Why did you decide to buy and renovate this Villa? When we acquired Pommery in 2002, the Villa had just been sold. For Paul-François, it was love at first sight, and he immediately started trying to get the villa back for Vranken-Pommery.

He had always admired art nouveau, even when he was growing up in Belgium, where this movement is very present. His first champagne cuvée, La Demoiselle, made reference to art nouveau.
