While most fashion weeks tend to be elite affairs, the Center for Youth, in reflection of its mission, intends for Fashion Week of Rochester to be accessible to everyone.

Last year's event raised over $325,000 for the Center for Youth, Spaull said, adding she hopes to raise 10 percent more this year.The week long event will be expanded and revamped this year, said Meghan Mundy, Fashion Week organizer. The boutique crawl will take place a week earlier on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m., instead of Sunday during the day. This is in response to Thursday being a popular night for girls night out, she said. Fashionistas may also purchase an outfit to wear at the boutique crawl that showcases area shops for Fashion Week the following week.Fashion Exchange will kick off the five days of fashion beginning Oct. 11. That's where people can bring in their gently used designer garbs to exchange for other pieces. It's not just used clothes at the gathering. Many area boutiques donate their excess inventory to the exchange.The first night of the runway series will have a brand new theme. On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Fashion Week will salute the men and women who serve our country and community with At Your Service show. 
This show will feature the country's heroes on the runway, from firefighters, police officers to military veterans, Mundy said.
