Big Sugar Restaurant & Rum Bar Sarasota, FL Fused and slumped glass sconces. The theme of this bar was identified as rum, so we referenced sugar cane in these fantastic wall sconces that covered the walls of an outdoor Florida bar. Bistro One West Restaurant St. Charles, IL Fused, slumped and blown glass pendants. A riverside restaurant and music lounge made these designs which echo river tributaries an easy pattern choice. Blown and slumped glass chandeliers and sconces. Then owner asked us to make this chandelier based on Chihuly’s Bellagio ceiling, but wanted something contained that was designed to enhance the space of an owner’s booth seating arrangement. Rhapsody Restaurant at Chicago Symphony Center Chicago, IL Blown, fused and slumped glass lamps and sconces. Blown, fused and slumped glass pendants, lamps and sconces. A wood craftsman turned a piece of wood for us to pull a mould of the stem for this mushroom, after which we blew the glass to get this precise amazing lamp base.

It was an incredible joining of craft techniques to get really unique finished glass pieces. Fused and slumped glass pendants. This pendant is an assemblage of three striped panels that hang on a stainless steel triangle skeleton. It is a fun compromise meeting the opposing desires of the homeowners. These panels have a colorful iridized surface making the wife happy during the day while the lamps are off, and the room is illuminated by natural light. When the lights are turned on in the evening, the interior illumination overrides the surface treatment and shows the base glass color, creating a neutral patterned shade. Slumped and painted glass pendants. Clumps of light fall like clusters of grapes to illuminate this wine bar and restaurant. Blown glass pendant ceiling installation. Another adaptation of the Bellagio ceiling adapted to make the homeowner’s dining room into an art installation. We were asked to fill three stories of space in the magnificent great room of this residence, without overwhelming the natural light coming from an entire wall of windows.

Making this chandelier like a giant tree that had come inside was an innovative solution. Sold by urbanestliving and Fulfilled by Amazon in easy-to-open packaging.

Even torrential rains couldn't dampen the spirits of nearly 700 guests who enjoyed Levine's return to the Ravinia stage after more than two decades to conduct Gustav Mahler's Second Symphony ("Resurrection"), the same piece he played at his Ravinia and CSO debuts when he was a last-minute replacement conductor for the 1971 gala.

A cocktail reception was held in the gala tent on the North Lawn before the nearly two-hour performance in the pavilion. Members of Ravinia's Jazz Scholars, one of the Reach+Teach+Play programs benefiting from the gala, played before dinner. Dramatic decor featured 32 9-foot-long chandeliers that changed colors throughout the meal. RELATED: TRENDING LIFE & STYLE NEWS THIS HOURA parade of colorful umbrellas led the way from the tent to the concert pavilion for the performance that opened with Ravinia associate conductor and Peoria Symphony music director George Stelluto making his CSO debut. He conducted the "Star Spangled Banner" as well as the off-stage "Banda" of Mahler's Second Symphony. Vocal soloists Ying Fang and Karen Cargill performed, and at the conclusion, Levine was given a standing ovation and received three curtain calls. With his hand over his heart, he acknowledged the love from the crowd. John Anderson, Ravinia board chair, commented, "The 'Resurrection Symphony' was a fitting title for the centerpiece of the CSO's gala concert program because, once the rain stopped, the concert and dinner energized into one of the most dazzling in Ravinia's long history.

We had much to celebrate, the homecoming of Levine after a two-decade absence; the 45th anniversary of his star-making Ravinia debut; the 50th anniversary of the Women's Board gala; the 80th anniversary of the CSO residency; and the success of our Reach+Teach+Play programs."CSO trumpeters Chris Martin and John Hagstrom brought the room to order before the dinner program began. Women's Board chair Judy Castellini acknowledged the first gala co-chairs Boots Nathan and Jan Weil, who were in attendance. A surprise presentation to Levine by co-chairs Karen Ettelson and Evey Schweig featured a handcrafted conductor's baton made of wood from an ash tree grown on the Ravinia grounds in a box made of woods from around the world. The inscription read, 'May the music of the spheres forever waft through the trees and greens of the park you created by the wave of your magic baton.' Gov. Bruce Rauner, in attendance with his wife, Diana, issued a proclamation declaring July 23 "A Day of Celebration" for Levine, the CSO and the Ravinia Women's Board. The black-tie event raised over $1 million to support Ravinia's Reach+Teach+Play outreach programs that provide thousands of people with free music education and community engagement activities, especially those in underserved communities.
