Crushing on Jenna Lyons Surely you would expect nothing less than chic perfection from  J. Crew’s  President and Executive Creative Director, Jenna Lyons–and her home is no small exception. I recently became obsessed with looking at photos of her insanely bold and fabulous outfits, so I searched around for photos of her home to see if it was as dreamy.

These images are from TrendHome, but a quick search will turn up even more. I think the overall takeaways here are bold and contrasting colors, big chunky pieces, and FUR. I can hardly stand how beautiful it is. And that shoe collection – oh my! I’ve been faithful to my french country decor for some time, but lately I’ve found myself moving towards incorporating more color and texture. I haven’t settled on anything in particular, but I thought I’d share some of the inspiration photos I’ve been gathering. It’s a bit mediterranean (mostly because I love the architecture) and a bit boho (for the color and element of fun), with a side of southwestern (because I’m so drawn to the textiles, and maybe purchased some real antlers for my wall on a recent Texas road trip). So, maybe it’s earthy boho? Whatever its called, I’m digging it. Covet Garden is an online magazine baed in Toronto. Each issue focuses on just one couple or individual’s home and lifestyle. House tours, their favorite cocktails, DIY ideas they came up with, on and on. A whole issue dedicated to some brilliantly creative people with killer inspiration for creating your own space. You can flip through the pages online of every issue they’ve created (32 so far!) AND, many of the cool things in the spaces have been made into clickable links that take you right to where you can buy stuff. Capiz Shell Chandelier Roundup Yesterday I showed you an amazing space with perfect pink touches and a glam capiz shell chandelier to top it off. The chandelier provided such a focal point, I just had to share some options for how to get the look–in every price range!

Splurge: Dreamy and delicious statement from Lighting Universe. Spend: Gorgeous piece at a reasonable price, from the One and Only, Target. Save: Super affordable but still great option from Amazon. I’ve decided that pink just isn’t used enough. I saw this totally chic and fabulous room with just the right amount of pink, and I decided we need to champion a total pink comeback. It doesn’t have to be juvenile or overtly feminine. It can be balanced, like this: The just-enough floral and soft textiles make the room feminine, but the modern lines on the sofa and tables bring it back to the happy middle. The happy and totally chic middle. Here’s a few items to get the look: 1. Throw pillows, floral and otherwise: I think the key here is to get a variety of pillows in the same color palette. These options featured are both affordable and from West Elm. 2. These geometric and metallic nesting tables are gorg, right? Anything gold with super clean lines would work well here.

3. Ah, the moroccan pouf. If you’re unsure about bringing color in, this is a great way to test the waters. This pink one from Serena and Lilly is a little on the pricey side, but the color is so on point I had to share. If you’re super DIY-friendly, you could also try this tutorial for making your own. 4. The paper mache animal heads from West Elm. This one is a wildebeest, to be precise. Kind of a polarizing figure these days because it seems like they are everywhere. Hear me when I say this–they are everywhere because they are adorable. I recently took the plunge and added some animal love to my living room and I really dig the eye-catching dimension it brings to the wall. Again for you DIY-crazed folks, here’s a way to make your own for super cheap. 5. I feel like this faux sheepskin rug from Ikea is one of the best accessories of the century. Every fabulous room needs a little fur, and this is a totally realistic way to accomplish that. So chic, so Scandinavian.
